Can I set different macro targets for training days and rest days?

Yes. In Macropass you set different calorie and macro targets for training days and rest days while keeping the weekly plan visible. Each weekday carries its own calories, protein, carbs and fat; fiber and sugar stay flat across the week. The diary shows today's effective target, and Trends shows the weekly average, so a high day and a low day still add up to the plan.

How do I set targets by weekday in Macropass?

Open Goals, turn on weekday targets, and enter calories, protein, carbs and fat for each day of the week. A typical split is higher carbs and calories on lifting days and lower on rest days, with protein held steady. Macropass applies the day's numbers automatically: the calorie bar and macro strip on a Tuesday use Tuesday's targets. Nothing else changes about logging.

What do target, minimum and maximum mean for the six values?

Six values per meal and per day: calories, protein, carbs, fat, fiber, and sugar. Calories, protein, carbs and fat are targets; fiber is a minimum; sugar is a maximum. So going over your fiber minimum shows as a good thing, and staying under the sugar maximum is the goal. Only the four targets vary by weekday; fiber and sugar are the same every day.

  • Calories, protein, carbs, fat: a target per day, with weekday variation.
  • Fiber: a daily minimum; over is good.
  • Sugar: a daily maximum; under is good.

How does Macropass keep the weekly plan visible?

Trends shows the weekly calorie total and the protein average next to the plan, so a heavy training day and a light rest day are judged together rather than each against a flat number. There are no streaks and no red failure screens: a day over target is shown as information, not an alarm.

Do I have to set the numbers myself?

No. Onboarding proposes a daily target and macro split from your goal, and you can keep it flat or split it by weekday. If you prefer to own the numbers completely, set manual mode and Macropass never recomputes them. A connected assistant cannot change goals; targets are set in the app.

Which other trackers offer targets by weekday?

Periodization is not rare, but mainstream trackers often gate it or bury it. As of 2026-09-18: MyFitnessPal offers custom calorie and macro goals for any day of the week in Premium; Cronometer offers a Macro Scheduler with one template per weekday in Gold; MacroFactor has no saved weekday schedule but lets you edit targets day by day inside a program; Lose It! schedules calories only, not macros; Cal AI shows no evidence of weekday targets in its listing. Macropass includes weekday targets in the single Macropass Pro subscription.

Weekday targets questions

Can I have a different protein target on training days?

Yes. Calories, protein, carbs and fat can each differ per weekday. Fiber and sugar stay the same every day.

Does the weekly average matter more than the daily target?

Macropass shows both. The diary judges today against today's target; Trends shows the week against the plan so high and low days balance.

Can my assistant read or change my weekday targets?

No. A connected assistant can log meals and weigh-ins and read your diary; goals stay in the app and cannot be changed over MCP.

Is calorie cycling a feature of the free trial?

Yes. The 14-day free trial unlocks the whole app, including weekday targets.

Can I change a single day's target without changing the week?

Yes. Each weekday has its own row; editing Thursday leaves the other six days as they are.

Just tell it what you ate.

Describe a meal, check the Macropass draft, confirm. Your day updates the moment it lands.
