How do I connect Claude or ChatGPT to Macropass?

What do I need before connecting?

A Macropass account on iPhone or Android with an active trial or subscription, and an account with the assistant you want to connect. Custom MCP connectors are added in the assistant's web settings; once added there, they sync to its mobile and desktop apps automatically. The endpoint is the same for every assistant:

How do I connect Claude?

Three steps, guided by the wizard in the app. Claude is the recommended assistant because its connector flow is the shortest.

1. In Macropass, open You, Assistants, Connect, choose Claude, and tap Copy URL.
2. Open Claude and go to Settings, Connectors. Tap Add custom connector and paste the URL.
3. Sign in with Macropass to authorize, review the three permissions, then come back to Macropass and tap Allow and connect.

How do I connect ChatGPT?

Four steps. ChatGPT adds custom MCP servers through developer mode in its Apps settings.

1. In Macropass, open You, Assistants, Connect, choose ChatGPT, and tap Copy URL.
2. In ChatGPT, open Settings, Apps, Advanced settings and turn on Developer mode.
3. Under Advanced settings, tap Create app. In New App, paste the URL into Server URL, set Authentication to OAuth, tick "I understand and want to continue", then tap Create.
4. Tap Sign in with Macropass to authorize, then come back to Macropass and tap Allow and connect.

How do I connect a custom MCP client?

Point the client at https://auth.macropass.app/mcp. Macropass supports OAuth 2.1 with PKCE and dynamic client registration; the authorization server metadata is at https://auth.macropass.app/.well-known/oauth-authorization-server and the protected resource metadata at https://auth.macropass.app/.well-known/oauth-protected-resource/mcp. What does the authorization screen ask for?

Three fixed permissions, shown as "This will let" in the Macropass wizard and on the sign-in page: Read today's data (see today's meals and nutrition totals), Log and update meals (log complete meals you describe in text, correct or delete meals, and log or delete weigh-ins), and Read history (see past meals and search your meal history). Access is token-based. You approve the connection once and can revoke it in Macropass at any time.

What should I say first?

Something ordinary: "I had oatmeal and a coffee". The assistant estimates and logs it, and the meal appears in Today in Macropass. Other things to try: "log a meal in plain language", "edit something you logged yesterday", "what did I eat this week with the most protein". Ask for the day's remaining budget inside the app; the assistant does not receive goals.

How do I disconnect an assistant?

In Macropass, open You, Assistants, and remove the connection. Access ends immediately for that assistant. You can also delete the connector on the assistant's side; deleting it there does not delete anything in your diary.

What if the connection does not work?

The three most common causes:

• "We couldn't find a new connection yet." The authorization was not completed in the assistant's settings. Finish signing in with Macropass there, then tap Allow and connect again.
• The assistant says the tool is unavailable or the subscription could not be confirmed. The trial or subscription is inactive. Open Macropass, pull to refresh, and check You, Subscription.
• The connector was added on mobile but does not appear. Custom MCP connectors are added in the assistant's web settings; add it there and it syncs to mobile and desktop.
